Edgars honoured on. 25th ...anniversary
Mrs. Floyd Butt of Fergus,
Mrs. Gordon Rintoul of White-
church and Mrs, Jaines Curran
visited on Sunday with their
mother, Mrs. Robert Purdon,
Miss Marjorie Procter • of
Correspondent.
Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse
About 40 relatives of Mr. and ,
Mrs. Harvey Edgar honoured
them on Saturday evening at the
Belgrave Women's institute Hall
to a hot turkey dinner on the
occasion of their 25th Wedding
Anniversary. •
The happy couple were presen-
ted with a card table and chairs
set.
During the evening progressive •
euchre was enjoyed. After this
Alvin Orvis was presented with a '
birthday cake and a gift on the
occasion of his 85th birthday.
Afternoon Unit
Hymn "The Morning Light is
Breaking" opened the meeting of
the afternoon unit of the U.C.W.
on Tuesday, November 13th with
thirteen in attendance, Minutes
were read, offering received and
visits to sick and shut-ins
recorded.
Mrs. Stewart Procter volun-
teered to act as a nominating
committee for the new slate of
officers. Mrs. Earl Anderson
reminded the members of they
meeting to assist leaders on the
new study to be held in Listpwel.
Mrs. Lawrence Taylor gave an
excellent detailed report of the
Huron-Perth Presbyterial.
The worship service was in
charge of Mrs. George Martin.
Mission is participating in God's
gift of freedom and 'sharing it.
Mrs. Martin read. Scripture from
Galatians and led in prayer.
Mrs. Cecil Coultes-introduced
the new study - Mission Impos-
sible - unless. This study has
promise of awakening new
challenges in the heart of every
member.
Surprise Party .
The second line euchre club
held a surprise party at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. 'Harvey Edgar
last Monday evening to celebrate
their 25th Wedding Anniversary.
, The evening was spent playing
progressive euchre. They were
presented with a swag lamp.
Eleven Tables
Eleven tables of euchre were
played last. Tuesday evening at
the Country Curlers Euchre held
in the Belgrave Community
Centre. High Lady - Mrs. Harvey
Edgar; Low Lady - Mrs. Mason
Robinson; High Man - Ross
Turvey; Low Man. - Leslie Bolt.
