' December 20 is the deadline for
appliction for crop insurance on
fruit crops groWn in the province.
The Crop Insurance Commission,
Ontario Ministry. of Agriculture
and Food have announced that
the December 20 application
deadline now applies to insurance
for apples, pears, peaches, sweet
cherries, .sour cherries, and
grapes.
The reason for this date is to
ensure that farmers have signed
up for insurance before winter
freeze-up occurs. Under the
plans, fruit growers are insured
against losses caused by a variety
of natural hazards, including

On Friday, November 9,
Vincent J. Lee of R.R.#4,
Wingham and Jan Bregman of
Exeter, were involved in a two-car
collisiOn on Highway #4; north of
the Junction of Huron Road #20.
No one was injured,. and total
damages were estimated at
$225.00.
On Sat ur day, November 10,
Clifford E. Davidson of Hamilton
andJames B. Cleland of R.R.#1,
`Lucknow were involved in a
two-car collision on Highway #86,
west of the Zetland Bridge.
Injured as a result of the Accident
were James B. Cleland and a
passenger in his car, Shirley F.
Josling of Wingham. Damages
were estimat ed at $2200.00.
Charges are pending.
