The Crop Insurance Commission, Ontario Ministry. of Agriculture and Food have announced that the December 20 application deadline now applies to insurance for apples, pears, peaches, sweet cherries, .sour cherries, and grapes. The reason for this date is to ensure that farmers have signed up for insurance before winter freeze-up occurs.
