as a feature of the annual Veterans banquet in the Legion Hall

ton of Cambridge at their meeting
Monday evening. .
A native.of Nova SCotia, he has
been a member of the Lions since
1963. He discussed with the,.
Brussels members the subject -
"One Million Men Serving
Mankind" and emphasized the
extent to which Lionism was •
making a contribution throughOut
the world.
For their Nov. 26th meeting,
Brussels Lions will make an
• interclub meeting to Lueknow.
Rembrance- '.service on
Sunday and attended the following
Service in Brussels United
Church. -
Rev. E. LeDrew; padre of the
local branch of the Legion was
in> charge of the services.
Comrade Ted Elliott was
parade marshall and also read
the names of those who laid
wreaths. '
The Legion pipe Band pro-
vided the music and following
the sounding of Reveille and. The
Last Post, when ,heads were
bowed in personal silent tribute
to the fallen, they led the parade
of L egion 'veterans and the Ladies
Auxiliary of the Legion to the
church.
Those who placed wreaths at
the Cenotaph, were: Province of
Ontario, Corn. Cal Krauter;

Day Service
The annual Remernbrance Day
:Service was held in the Brussels
United Church on Sunday morn-
ing November lith at 11:15 A.M.
The 'Church worship followed the
service at the Cenotaph.. Both
services were conducted- by the -.-
Legion Padre, Rev. Eric L.
LeDiew. The church was full,
including the balcony for this
special service. The choir sang
"Let There Be Peace",, and the.
mens' -quartette sang ::Wonder
Wonderful Jesus is to me".
The Sermon was entitled
"Peace and Good-will among •
men", .emphasizing that sincere
efforts through • understanding
and Good-will must be found soon
if our world, is to survive and
prosper, that the will-to-war must
be replaced by the will-to-peace
by all nations on earth.

A Remembrance Day dinner
was held Saturday at 7 P.M..
at the Royal 'Canadian Legion,
Brussels, with a good attendance.
Those speaking briefly were;
Reeve of Morris, Comrade Bill
Elston; Reeve of. Grey Comrade
rCharlie Thomas; warden of
'Huron, Roy 'Pattison. The gifeat
speaker was Comrade Major
Youmat off of Clinton who, in an
interesting and inspiring address
Physical. Education consultant, is
co-ordinating this thrust. He is
meeting with the Medical Officers
of Health and the Public *Health
Nursing Supervisors of Huron and
Perth Counties.
The purpose of these meetings
is to identify priorities for health'
education for children from Kin-
dergarten to Grade 6.
Following these meetings the
first phase will be, to design
workshops ,for teacherS to
identify materials and available
resources. There will be close
collaboration over a period of
time so that an appropriate cur-. -
riculum guideline may be written.
The Board will inform the
Parent Teachers ASsociation at
bur Lady of Mount Carmel School
R.R. #3, Dashwood, that there

for Playground equipment at that

The Ladies Auxiliary pre-
sented the Royal Canadian Legion
with a cheque of $2,000. also
a Past Presidents'. Plaque with
all the names of the Past Presi-
dents since 1931. The Ladies
Auxiliary presented a cheque of
$100. to, the Legion pipe Band.
The evening was spent dancing:

told that John McCarroll is to
prepare a presentation- on
playground 'equipment needed at
alf19 schoOls in the two counties
early in the New Year.
At. 7;30 p.m. on November. 14
the Stratford members of the
Board will' attend a meeting in.
Stratford along with members
of City COuncil of stratford Plan-
bing Board, Perth County Board
Of Education, and the Board of
Park Management to discuss with
Harold Freure,contractor, his
concept of 40-oot lots in resi-
dential - subdivisions, density;
heithth of apartment buildings,
etc.
The Board granted permis-
sion to 'Jahn Weichel of the
Beacon-Herald in Stratford to
approach principals' of separate
schools in Perth for pupils in.
