Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Broad- hagen from Listowel were guest soloists. Several special events were OBITUARY ROY PATRICK Roy Patrick, 71, of R.R.. 4, Walton, died at Seaforth Manor on Saturday. He had .been in poor health for nearly four years, Mr. Patrick was horn in liiba bekt Townthip, the son of the late Mr, and Mrs. Andrew Patrick. He Was married In. Winthrop, in 1933 to the former Mabel Pe thick, and following thigh' marriage the couple fanned in MoKillop Township. Otto Pfeiffer donated a prize that realized $23 and an Ethel Bingo netted $30. Correspondent Mrs.Allan McCall The Walton Women's Institute met in the community hall on Wednesday evening. The President, Mrs. Allan McCall, presided with. Mrs. Bill Humph- ries at the piano. Mrs. McCall read a poem, "Get Involved". The minutes were read by the secretary-treaserer, Mrs. Ken McDonald. 26 members an- swered the roll. call, A New Year's resolution I've tried to keep' during 1973". There were two visitors present. Mrs. McDonald gave the treasurer's report. A gift is to be sent to the area convention. It was decided to have a Court Whist ladies night on Tuesday,October 30th. Picked as a committee to make plans were Mrs. Don Nolan, Mrs. Keith. Rock, Mrs. George Blake and Mrs. George McCall. Winter season card parties will begin November 9th. The hostesses are Mrs. Ernie Stevens, Mrs. Richard Geis, Mrs. Don Achilles and Mrs.Clarence Hudie. Mrs. Herb Traviss reported on the County Rally at Centralia. Mrs. Traviss\ and Mrs. Ray Huether were voting delegates. The guest speaker, Mrs. A. McIntyre was introduced by Mrs. Harvey Craig, Mrs. Mc Intyre lives in Grey Township for the summer, originally from Windsor, she had a wonderful display of crafts, showing many of her own ideas. Mrs. Alvin McDonald thanked Mrs. McIntyre and presented her with a gift. Lunch was served by Mrs. Nelson Marks, Mrs. Don Nolan, Mrs. E. Mitchell and Mrs. K. Boundary and 17th Unit meet Mrs. George Williamion was hostess in her home for the Boundary and 17th Unit meeting Thursday afternoon. Devotions were opened by Mrs, Harold MdCallum reading poem ' "Thanksgiving Day" fol- lowed by prayer. Mrs. Cliff Hoegy read the scripture from Luke 17: 1 - 19. Hymn 579, "We plough the fields and scat- . ter" was sung. • Mrs, C. Hoegy chose as her topic, “Our Thanksgiving" and *• "stayed Home Sunday". The business was conducted by the president of the unit. Mrs. McCallum read the minutes. Tickets were given out for the annual fowl supper November '7th. Invitations were announced from churches to attend their Thank- offering meetings and the Bible Collecting was done. Bazaar money was handed in and will go to the General Fund. Lunch served by Mrs. H.mc.: Callum, Mrs. C. Hoegy. and hostess. Lost and Found group meets The girls met for their third meeting on Tuesday evening in the church basement. The roll call was taken and plans made for a bake - sale November 3rd at the Community Hall. The fourth meeting was held the following Tuesday evening. The draw on a sheepskin rug was m ade and the winner was Jim Ra.rkinson, Queens Hotel, Seaforth. A total, of $91.75 was realized from the sale of • tickets. For crafts, members did batik. The fifth meeting was held on Tuesday, October 16th at the church. 19 members answered the roll call. Ruthie Thamer read the minutes in the absence of the secretary, Janis Van Vilet. For crafts some of the girls Worked on batik while Corrie Habkirk; Julie Blake andHeather Brennan made posters for the coming bake sale. Entertainment was brought byNancyKunder and Jayne Baker. Those attending the Archarnbault- Graham wedding on Saturday in St. Marys were: Mr. and. Mrs. Roy Williamson; Mr. and Mrs. Emmerson Mitchell; Mr.and Mrs.Doug Fraser,Walton and. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Clark, Londesboro. Little Allison Traviss spent the weekend with her grandpar- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Herb TraViss. Mrs.Ethel Hackwell of Huron- view spent the weekend with rela- tives in the community. The Walton Institute are planning a Court Whist Party next Tuesday evening in the Community Hall with the com- mittee in charge of detail' follows: Mrs. 'Don Nolan, Keith Rock, Mrs. George and Mrs. George McCall. for posters as to time.
