I R111114/CTID . 10 A N MAC4 IANSCANS *I 01110VIN East Wawanosh council East Wawanosh Township council met in regular session at 8 p.m. on auguSt 7th, 1973, in the 13elgrave Community Centre Room with Reeve Pattison pre- siding and all the members pre- sent. ' Minutes of the previous regular meeting held July 3rd, 19'73, were read and adopted. Motions werre adopted as follows: - That Council accept a Tile Drain Loan Application. - That rent of $150 be paid to the 13elgrave Arena Board for use of the Belgra.ve Community Centre room. - That penalty of 2% be charged on all taxes the first day of default, being December 16th, also after January 1st, sta- tutory interest of 1/2 of 1% per month be, added until paid. - That Auburn deposit gar- bage in the East Wawanosh Sani- tary Landfill at a cost of $250 annually. Contract t be renewed on an annual basis, beginning July 1st, 1973. - That the council of the Township of East Wawanosh ac- cept the plans for the Township of East Wawanosh Public Works Garage as prepared by B.M. Ross and Associates subject to the approval of the Ministry of Transportation and Com- munications. - That the Road Accounts of $4,388.82 and the General Accounts of $1,575.39 as presented be passed and paid. - That Council adjourn to meet again on September 4th, at 8 p.m. Nixon will be leadership candidate Liberal leader Robert Nixon announced last week that he will be a candidate at the provincial Liberal leadership convention in October. Mr. Nixon said, "A number of reasons have prompted me to make my decision. The most important is my conviction that after 30 years of Conservative government in this province, the people are now prepared to elect a responsible alternative - an alternative which I belie've only the Liberal Party can provide."
