[ten [AM 1711 Correspondent Mrs. Joe Walker The Canadian Industries meeting of the Bluevale Women's Institute took the form of a tour through Chapman's “Vanity Fair" at Whitechurch on 'Wed- nesday afternoon, August 8. The meeting was convened by Mrs. Ken Chambers and Mrs. Cecil Sanderson. Members and guests gathered at Riverside Park in Wingham alter the tour for a short business period and a picnic lunch. Mrs. Mel Craig presided. 4-H leaders for the fall project "A World of Food in Canada" are Mrs. Charles Mathers and Mrs. Tim Talton, Mrs. Alex MacTavish and Mrs. Wendell Stamper, Miss Rose- mary. Schmidt and Miss Mary Edith Garniss. - • The bus trip to Black Creek Pioneer Village Which was planned for August 15 was post- poned until a later date. A committee of three, Mrs. Wendell Stamper, Mrs. Jim Arm- strong and Mrs. Alex MacTavish will prepare an exhibit "An Evening at Home" for the Howick Fall Fair. Miss Darlene Stamper told of her trip to Edmonton, as part of a youth exchange program, spon- sored by the National Farmers' Union. She was thanked by Mrs. B ert Garniss and presented with a gift. Members were reminded to have their house logs prepared for the next meeting. This will be held at the home of Mrs. Graham Campbell on September 13, at 8 p.m. There will be' a display of antiques and the topic will be "Articles from the local Tweedsrriuir History." Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hall were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hall Sr. of Chatham, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hall, Jr. of Blenheim,Mr. and Mrs.BobHall and famiy of Shakespeare and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hall and Dianne of Brussels. Mr. and Mrs. J.J.. Elliott visited Thursday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Montgomery. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Fraser Haugh and Eileen were Mr. and Mrs. Carman Nixon, Lori and' Andrea of London. mr. and Mrs. Fraser Haugh and Eileen spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Noble and family and assisted with the threshing. Bob MacTa.vish and Richard De Boer were at University from August 14 to 16 attending the 4-H Conference as delegates from this area. Mr. and Mrs. John K. Mac Tavish of Brantford, while up on holidays attended a Bowling Tournament in Lucknow, on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Pritchard of St. George and. Bob called on Mr. and Mrs. George Fischer and family Monday and Bob stayed for a holdiay. Mr. and Mrs. George Fischer and Dayle and Bob Pritchard visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Barney Pritchard at Mitchell. Greg Moffatt was a guest of Marie Walker on Sunday. Mrs. Ethel Povey and mrs. May Gowla.nd of Fergus and Mrs. Dan Ahrens of Elmwood visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Elliott. Mr. and Mrs. Kieth Moffatt, Sandra and Greg spent a week's holiday at Kincardine. Mr. Irving Elliott, Fred and E d of Mount Hope were holidaying with his parents, Mr. and. Mrs. Fred Elliott. Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Elliott and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mathers visited Gordon Messer and Mary MacTavish and others at Huron view on Sunday. Mrs. Charles Ma.thers, Mrs. Alex MacTavish, Mrs. Wendell Stamper and. Mrs. Tim Tolton attended the 4-H Training School which took place in the Salvation Army Citadel basement on August 7 and 8th. The project this time is. A World of Food in Canada. Any girl who is 12 by September 1st who cares to take this pro- ject may contact anyone of the four leaders or assistant leaders. We were sorry to hear Aart DeVos, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. DeVos was in London Hospital. We wish him a speedy recovery. Mrs. Harold Grant and Mrs. Mel Donahue of Teeswater called on Mr. and Mrs. Alex MacTavish and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Willitts and family on Wednesday of last week. The Belmore and Bluevale Young People's went camping at Inverhuron on the weekend of August 3rd. Bob MacTavish spent a week in Toronto with David Smith on the Urban-Rural EXchange Program. Mr. and Mrs. Wes Paulin and Mr. and Mrs. George Paulin of Clifford enjoyed a trip to the East coast and Prince Edward Island. Sheila and Kevin walker spent a few days last week with 'Mr. and Mrs. George Fischer and family. Mrs. Lloyd Henning and Mrs. Dwight Gorrell of Pilot Mound, Manitboa are spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Snell of Caledon East. The Bluevale II 4-H Club held its first meeting at the home of the leader, Mrs. Alex IViacTavish on Thursday evening. The rriext meeting is Saturday, August 25 at 10a.m. Any girl still wishing to join this club is still welcome and will be, given the first meeting, also, you may miss two meetings and still get your credit. Our Achievement Day is November 3rd. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leeson and family of Stittsville are spending some holidays with' her parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Golley and other relatives in this area. Mrs. Golley is a patient in Wingham and District Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. George Fischer attended the wedding of their nelce Sandra Fischer on Satur- day, Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Ken Johnston on the arrival of their infant son, born Satur- day August 18 in Wingham and District Hospital.
