The second game between the Sabres and the Wee Stinkers was rained out. Last week saw the Sabres, in the firs t game, annihilate Ni*A*S*11 29 - to sneak back into first in the standings. The game was close through the first four innings, but-the Swords' bats came alive in the fifth and seventh innings to break the game wide open. Due to Frank Stretton's injury, Don(Baby Huey' Laurie pitched the whole game, allowing 11 hits, walking 5 and striking out 2 batters. The second encounter was a battle between two shorthanded teams, both 2 men short of one. The game was well played`though with the Wee Stinkers beating the Barons 12 - 5 to stay in the running for top spot. Ken Ritchie took the win for his second victory of the year on the strength of 8 strikeauts,- 7 walks and 9 hits. Chris 'Long Arm' Exel was the loser even though he struck out 12 batters and walking 3 following 14 hits. Most games drew good crowds and the finals on Monday attracted a large--number of spectators who Watched a local team; Ritdhie'S RocketS„ capture the T B. Championship with a 7-4 victory over aonroy. Thamesford Standbys defeated Chepstow by a •slim 3-2 margin to win the A championship. The sponsors of the event, the Brussels Recreational Com- mittee, are well pleased with the financial and outstanding athletic success of this their third annual tournament.
