Miss Margaret Hallahan of St. Joseph's Hospital, London, spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs: Dan Balla- han. She attended the Hallahan family picnic in the Seaforth Park on Sunday. Seventy rela- tives were In attendance. A family picnic of Edgar rela- tives was held at Wingham, Riverside Park onSunday. Those present included the Rev. John and Mrs. Murdock of Richmond B.C., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edgar, Miss Shirley Edgar, Miss Joan Edgar of London, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnston and Miss Debbie Craig of Blyth, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Edgar and Joanne; Mr. and Mrs. Niel Egar and Kimberley; Mr. and* ra, Edward Daer, Terry and Pa.-icia; Mrs. Art Edgar and Murray , all of Wingham; Mrs. Laura Mann, Teeswater; Mrs. Elva Jacquesi Clifford; Mr. and Mrs. George Gibson and Mrs. Lillie Weir of Wroxeter; Mrs. Roger Bieman and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stone- house. WMS The W.M.S. met Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church. The president, Mrs. Joseph Dunbar opened it with a poem and led in prayer. "Jesus Shall Reign Where'er the Sun" was sung. Scripture was read by Mrs. Walter Shortreed. The meditation entitled "Patience" was given by Mrs. Garner Nichol- son. Mrs. George Fear gave a prayer. Mrs. Victor Youngblutt spoke on 'The Green Revolution in India'. The secretary's report was given by Mrs.J.C. McBurney and the treasurer's report by Mrs. Victor Youngblutt. • The roll call was answered by a verse on idObedience". Six- teen visits to the sick and shut- ins were recorded. Mrs. Joseph Dunbar introduced two guests, Mrs. Saber 'and Mrs. Rachel Swailem of Hensall. Mrs. Saber is a W.M.S. literature secretary and brought a display of books. The meeting closed with a hymn. Lunch was served by Mrs. Joseph Dunbar and Mrs. Victor Youngblut. JUNIOR AUXILIARY The Belgrave Junior Auxi- liary held their meeting on Satur- day morning in the Orange Rail with Sheila Anderson leading in the opening exercises. Cathy .Shiell took charge Of the roll call. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Patti Edwards who also helped with the worship service. . Kelly Lougheed and Sharon Alton collected the offering and. Patti Edwards recited the offer- tory prayer. The treasurer's report was given by Nancy Moore. Leaders for the next meeting are: ga.mes, Kelly LOugheed, sing- song, Anne Procter; to help with worship service - Cathy Shiell; clean-up girls - Kelly Lougheed and Sheila Anderson. However, the residents are looking forward to the visits from the band each Monday during' August. Thirty7five residents travelled by bus to London on wednesday with the first stop at Storybook Gardens. Every- one enjoyed the animals, flowers and the scenery at the gardens. Then on to Springbank Park for a picnic lunch. The residents visited the Marian Villa Home during the afternoon and were welcomed by Sister Maureen and her committee. Following a tour of the home a social hour was spent in the craft room with members of the Auxiliary serving lunch. On Thursday, Mrs. Norman Coultes, Mrs. Ivan Wigntrnan, Mrs. Stanley Black, Mrs. Dan Hallahan, Mrs. Ross Higgins and Mrs. Lorne Jamieson attended the opening of the Earl and Lee Homestead near Stoney Creek where the first women's Insti- tute was formed in 1897. It Is now owned by the Institutes. Over 500 Institute women attended this event. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Jainie- son, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hanna, attended the Highland Games at Fergus on Saturday. • -Mrs. Sam Lennox, Patricia and Clinton of Gorrie, David , Geiger, Mr. Gerald Therdoff and Miss Sadie Therdoff of Listowel, visited on Sunday with Mr. and 'Mrs. Lorne Jamieson, Patrick 'remained with her aunt and uncle for some holidays.
