Friday and Saturday Night The Altones, f;• Local Briefs Warden is honored OPP reports area accidents Recent investigations carried out by the 0.P,P. of the Wingham detachment include: Nine investigations and nine persons charged under the. Liquor Control Act. Ten charges laid and ten persons warned, under the High- way Traffic Act. Thirty-eight other investi- gations with four persons being charged under the Criminal Code of Canada. • On July 23, David B. Logan of Brussels, struck a horse which had wandered onto Huron County Road #34, north of Highway 86, owned by Wves Dufault of Strat- ford. Damages were minor. On July 26, Evelyn R. Mair and Joan Mair were injured when the vehicle Mrs. Mair was driving went off the west side of County Road #12, south of Concession 4-5, Morris Township, and hit a hydro pole and fence. Damages were estimated at $1,000. On July 2'7, Delbert E. Clegg and Wilma. Clegg of Gorrie, were injured' when their ,car left the north side of Highway #86, east of the C.N.R. )&ing in Turnberry Township and struck some fence , posts, then rolled over. Damages were estimated at $1,500. On July 28, Ruth A. Godden of Listowel, was involved in a single-car accident on Huron County Road #19, west of Side- road 25-26, Grey Township. There were no injuries,' and daMages were estimated at $400., Graham L. Cook of,Ripley and Stephen B. McDougall of H.R. #2, Wingham, were involved in a two-car collision on Sideroad 18, south of the B-Line, Turnberry Township. No one was injured, and damages were estimated at $650. Samuel C. Hewitt of R.R. #1, Wingham was involved in a single car accident on Sideroad 15-16, south of -the Maitland Rivei Bridge, Morris Township, in which a pedestrian,_,Tason M. Bell of London, was injured. They are on their way to Tas- mania to practise dentistry as both are qualffiedm Mr. and Mrs. H. Miller of Hespeler spent the holiday week- end with Mrs. G, Chidlow. Mr, and Mrs. McCurdy Lowry of Vero Beach, Florida, have been Vacationing in this community. Mr, and Mrs. Murray Vodden and his mother of London were Sunday visitors with Mrs. James Kerr. Mrs. Murray Vodden remained to visit with her mother Dr 'and Mrs. Russell Q. for a few days. Mr.. and Mrs. George Bridge returned last week from a trip to the Maritime provinces. Mr. and Mrs. Q. Gray of Gorrie were Visitors last week with her aunt, Mrs. G. Chidlow who a.ccompanied them to visit her sister, Mrs. J.W. Fischer who is a patient in Listowel. Memorial Hospital. Miss Pearl Baeker of Toronto was a visitor with Mrs. Mary Baeker. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ebel and family of Ingersoll were holiday weekend visitors w ith Mr. and Mrs. Jack McCutcheon. Roy V. Pattison, warden of Huron county and Reeve,of East Wawanosh Township s' was honoured at a dance Friday evening at the Wingham Legion Hall, sponsored by the Township of East Wawanosh. The event attracted a large representation of • County Council members, ex- wardens, reeves, friends and ratepayers, who gathered to honour Warden Pattison. East Wawanosh councillor, Simon flaahan, who has begli associated in office with Reeve Pattison for the longest period, was chairman for a presentation, Warden pattison was presented with a leather chair and Mrs, pattlson was presented with a dozen red rosess.
