The brave Barons put up a valiant effort, playing with only '7 players but finally succumbed to the pesky Stinkers 19-18. The tale of the tape came in the, third inning when the victors scored 10 runs, mostly via the free ticket issued by the two pitchers of M.A.S.H. Brian 'Oh my Arm' Huether and Dale 'Missed Again' Pletch. Sabres collected 23 hits while M.A.S.H. had fourteen off Frank 'Fireball' Stretton. By the way, it seems that with the arm of Frankie on the Sabres' side (Cy Young Hopeful?) they look like the team to beat, but if it fails the playoffs could be very interesting (nugh!! nugh! 0. PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Wee Stinkers: Norm ‘Lepre- chaun' Lemplce was the hero for his side with, his timely hitting with 2 hits at .5 at-bats with 4 runs batted in. Barons: Jim 'Arnold Pal- mer?!' Prior was a real tee- off at bat with 6 hits at 7 times to the plate scoring 5 runs. Sabres: Mick 'By Godfrey' Conaboy showed a fine display of fielding in helping secure a victory for his team and also getting 2 hits. M.A.S.H.: Ralph 'Trapper John Treibner was 3 for 4 at the plate and scored 3 runs for his team.
