talks drains
Resolutions passed at the July
meeting of the Grey Council in-
cluded:
- that Rating By-law No. 11 of
1973 under the Tile. Drainage Act,
1971 be passed as read a first,
second and third times.
that Roy Williamson look
into the McNaught Drain repairs
and bring a report back to coun-
cil.
- that Clifford Bray look after
having the Sixth Concession Drain
repaired.
- that Huron Plowman's Associa-
tion be given approval to sell tick-
ets in the Township of Grey for
the purpose of raising funds for
the Huron "Plowman's Associa-
tion.
- that .By-Law No. 10 of 1973
authorizing the purchase of Lot
13, Plan 11 be passed as read
a first, second and third times.
- that Huron-Perth Assessment
Office be requested to prepare
a list of canine owners in the
Township of Grey.
- that Bruce Clark be given
permission to 'place a trailer •
on Part of Lot 1, Concession 17.
Account's paid included: Gen-
eral $4,947.32 and Roads and
Bridges $23,380.78 for a total
of $28,328.10.

WI ladies discuss
international foods

Mrs. Joe Walker
Mrs. Alex MacTavish was
hostess for the Bluevale Women's
Institute meeting which was held
in the Community Hail on Wed-
nesday evening July 4. Family
and Consumer Affairs Conveners
were Mrs. Wendall Stamper and
Mrs. Ross Nicholson.
The president, Mrs. Mel
Craig, welcomed the guests, 4-H
club members, their leaders and
mothers. Special guest- for the
evening was Miss Jane PengelleY,
nome economist for Huron who
succeeds Miss Catherine Hunt.
She spoke on some of the future
projects and showed slides of
one - "A World of Food In
Canada." • This features the pre-
paration of foods of other coun-
tries. Mrs. Ken Chambers, on
behalf of the 4-H girls and
leaders, presented a gift to Miss
Pengelly to take back to Miss
Hunt, who is being married this
fall. The 4-H girls presented
a fashion show, modelling the
outfits they had made in the spring
project, "Sportswear from
Knits." Their record books and
exhibits were on display. The
Roll Call was answered by, "What
A Girl misses by not being a
4-H member.
Mrs. Harry Elliott paid
tribute to the late Mrs. Raymond
Elliott who had been an active
member of the Institute fdr many
years.
The Huron County Atlas, has
been purchased by the Institute
and placed in the Bluevale Li-
brary in memory -of the late
Mrs. Alice Aitken.
Mrs. Craig thanked those who
had helped at the Turnberry
Central School Graduation ban-
quet to which the Institute
catered.
The Dancing Dollies, Mrs.
Jim Armstrong, Mrs. Wendall
Stamper and Mrs. Bill de Vos,
with Miss Elizabeth Armstrong at
the piano, provided good enter-
tainment.
A bus trip to Black Creek
Pioneer Village, is planned for
August 15.
Lunch was served by the hos-
tess, assisted by Mrs. 'Harvey
Timm,, Mrs. Bert Garniss, Mrs.
Sparling Johnston, Mrs. Bernard
Thomas,' Mrs. Bob Fraser and
Mrs. J.J. Elliott.

holiday with her sister, Mrs.
Allan McKercher and other rela-
tives in the area. On Sunday
she visited Mrs. Lloyd Henning
and they went to the picnic park

Clarence Henning, Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Elliott and Larry; Mr.
