the weekend with Mr. and. Mrs.
Keith Moffatt and family and

A miscellaneous shower was
held in the United Church Sunday
school room for Miss Sylvia
Hoover whose marriage to Mr.
Ross Gibson takes place early
in June.
Mrs. Roy Cousins welcomed
the guests and was in charge
of the bride's book. Mrs. Wal-
ter Kerr played appropriate
music on the piano.
Sylvia, her mother, Mrs. Nor-
man Hoover, and the groom
elect's mother, Mrs. Arnold
Gibson, Listowel were presented
with corsages. Along with Mrs.
Ruth Schade and Mrs. Marian
Eadie they were escorted to a
place of honour under the taste-
fully decorated arch.
Mrs. Doug Hemingway intro-
duced the numbers on the
program and read a poem
entitled, "The Nurse", as a
tribute to Sylvia and her pro-
fession.
Brian Armstrong played two
well-prepared piano solos. A
humourous reading was given by
Mrs. Viola Machan, "The
Groom's Wedding Apparel."
Mrs. Leona Armstrong and Mrs.
Marie McCutcheon dressed as a
bride and groom sang duets in
a very enjoyable manner.
Mrs. Barb McCutcheon nar-
rated "Jimmie Hoover's Sister's
Wedding," to the delight of the
audience. Julie Campbell played
several numbers on her accor-
dion, ending with the beautiful
selection, "Amazing Grace".
MrS. Carl Hemingway read
,an address to Sylvia and wished
her well. The gifts were brought
in by the young guests in the
audience.
Sylvia expressed her thanks
for the lovely and useful gifts
and invited everyone to her trou-
sseau tea on May 26th.
Lunch was served by Elma
Cousins,Barb McCutcheon,
Leona rmstrong, Jane De Vries,
Eleanor Hemingway, Elsie Miller
and Wilma Hemingway.

24. Card of Thanks
We would like to express our
sincere appreciation to all our
neighbours, friends and relat-
ives for all the acts of kindness
shown to us in our recent berea-
vement. A very special thanks
to neighbours who brought food
to the house and the ladies of
the church for supplying lunch in
the Church parlour. Thanks to all
who sent flowers and donations
to, the Heart Fund and Cemetery
Chapel Fund. Thanks also to
those who remembered Mrs. Mc-
Fadden with flowers and cards
while she in hospital and at home.
