THE SEA LAMPREY?
The sea lamprey, an eel-like
fish that sucks the blood of its
victims, sometimes will fasten
onto swimmers. Unlike leeches,
however, lampreys apparently
are repelled by warm-blooded
animals and invariably let go.
There is no record of a lamprey
harming a human.
