Following a smorgasbord supper, the quartette consisting of Nelva Scott, Betty Campbell, Sarah Stephenson and Barb. Mc Cutcheon, entertained, with se- veral numbers. Adah Smith read an musing letter .gr ,Dear GOO." Marie Ale Taggart introduced Alfred Icoight who showed slides of local scenes. He was presented with a gift of, appreciation by Barb Mccutcheoll. Several of the visiting ladies expresed their thanks to the U.C.W. Mr. and Mrs. NorrnanHoover attended the christening of their grandson, Steven Douglas Eadie, la the Presbyterian Church, Wingham, on Sunday, Miss Beth Hoover also attended. Lester Machan of Toronto spent the weekend with his mother Mrs. Leonard Maehan. Also present was Mrs. Goll's brother, Lorne McCrack- en of Bluevale and Mel McArter and Jack Higgins of Brussels. Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Dale, Donna, Brenda, Joan, Bruce and Daren of Clinton and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thornton, Dianne, Steven and Twyla Dawn of Dub- lin were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Thornton. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davidson and boys of Port Elgin and Mr and Mrs. Douglas Davidson and son of London visited with Mr. and Mrs. George Davidson on Mother's Day. Heming- way attended the graduation ceremony at Centralia College of Agricultural Technology when their son Neil was an honors graduate of the Agricultural Bus- iness Management course. Mrs. Sharon Whittaker, Brantford and Dr. , and Mrs. Peter Hemingway, Listowel, also attended . Later, Mr. Dennis Whittaker, Brantford and Miss Donna Reese and her parents of Sarnia joined the Hemingway family for dinner at the Garage in London. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kelling- ton and boys were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kellington and Tommy of Stratford. Would the mothers of the BUMPER STICKERS Guides and Brownies attend a meeting on Wednesday, May 23rd at 8 p.m. in the Library. The District Commissioner, Mrs. Newnham from -Seaforth would like to meet our L.A. members. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Roberts and family of Ottawa were week- end visitors with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gowing. They also attended the .christening of their nephew, Gregory Bruce Wheeler, at Brussels United Church. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Durst and family of Walkerton, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Edgar and family of Listowel, Mr. and Mrs. Jan Van Vliet and family of Grey Town- ship and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas were Mother's Day guests with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Thomas of Mississauga, were also visitors with his brother Harold and Mrs. Thomas. Miss Nancy Gowing, who spent a. week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gowing has returned to Victoria Hospital School of Nursing, London. Susan Langlols recently danced at Brantford. She re- ceived a gold medal for first in the Highland Fling and a bronze for third In the Sean Trubeaus in the intermediate class. Mrs. Shirley Wheeler and Mrs. pat Langlois have been elected representatives for the Goderich District of the Highland Dancers Association. They have recently attended meetings in Woodstock and on Sat. , in Brant- ford. 8-wTHE BRUSSELS POSti. MAY 16; 1973 Brownie . news The Brownie meeting washeld in the school auditorium on May 14 when members played the game King and Queen. Divid- ing into four groups, the Brownies proceeded up town to look in store windows to observe ten things. Returning to the school the girls wrote down the things they had seen. Fairy Ring and Brownie Opening and Fairy Gold followed followed and the meet- ing closed with our Brownie Squeeze. Debbie prior was picked as Fairy Queen for the week. TURN ONS (By Catherine Sholdice)
