Minster John Clement said a new post of information co-ordinator will be created to ensure that the public knows and understands its rights. Residents of Ontario Nursing Homes 'will have to pay from 54 to $1 a day more for their Care starting the 1st of May. The new rates were established earlier this week at a meeting of the Ontario 'Nursing Home Association with Government of- ficials. A $50 million fund allowing municipalities to lend money to property owners along Ontario shorelines affected by high water has been proposed. The loans would allow home- owners to construct retaining walls, dikes, breakwaters and other structures designed for the rehabilitation and protection of property on water where shores have been damaged or eroded by the elements. James Snow, Minister of Government Services,, said it will also include repairs to any build- ing or other structure caused by high water levels, ice or erosion of the shore. Premier William Davis and Treasurer John white this week caved in to pressure and criti- cism from the Opposition, the public and Conservative back- benchers, and promised to remove the 7% sales tax on energy from their budget legislation. There was an unprecedented flow of letters, about 2,000 from the public to the Premier con- demning the tax which would have raised $65 million this year. Nonetheless the sales tax on goods and services will be raised from 5% to 7% as of the 1st May. This was debated in the Legislature with the Opposition opposing the increase and the Government supporting it. This (SUNDAY'SASERMON) We all have a good deal of hang-ups, worries, and problems in our daily lives. Too many of us, however, let these things get us down and make us feel uneasy.. Budgets, bills, compe- titive society we always seem to have one or the other on our minds. Sure, these things are impor- tant and we must give them thought, but perhaps our lack of faith forces us to concentrate on these problems of the material, world even more. Too many times we forget that God has provided well for us in the past and that He will always take care of us. If we would only go to God more often with our troubles and our problems, we would•find them easier to bear. And if we let God enter our hearts and minds, He will let us know what His will is for our lives. True, by bringing our troubles to God doesn't mean that tomorrow our budgets will balance - but we will be given a new perspective on our lives. That new perspectiVe might help us to realize that we do not really need all the materialistic things we pursue; Canadian Association- 'Ar!
