Reverent Mc Whinnie, Chaplain of the Herne, held a special
communion Service in the Chapel on Sunday morning,
assisted by Elders Mr. Cechrane, Mr. Archibald and Mr.
Howard.
Volunteers from the Goderich TewnShip Women's
Institute assisted with the Monday activities , with music
supplied by Molly Cox, Norman Speir and Jerry Collins.
Twenty-four residents were honoured at the Mardi
Birthday Party on Wednesday afternoon, sponsored by the
Seaforth Women's Institute. Gayle Campbell introduced
the program, which included step-dances and vocal numbers
by the Henderson Trio, Donna, Darlene and Debbie; mouth-
organ .seleOtions by Lorne Lawson; Scottish numbers by
brothers Jeff and Greg McPherson, with the bagpipes;
vocal duets by Grace Campbell and Ruth Townsend; solos
by Erlin Whitmore and guitar solos by Danny Wesenberg.
Gifts were presented to the celebrants and lunch served
to about 150 residents. Miss Marion Grey thanked all those
responsible for the party, in behalf of the residents.
A Family Night program that has been looked forward
to for some time took place on Thursday, with a Night of
Harmony provided by the Sweet Adelines, This 30-member
chorus originates from Stratford, Tavistock, Woodstock and
surrounding area and, along with their director, Mrs. Fidell
Stewardson, spend many evenings during the year enter-
taining people with their four-part harmony. Miss Gray
(who, by the way, is a personal friend of one of the members)
thanked the ladies for a most enjoyable program. This was
a dress rehearsal for' their annual harmony night that is
being held by the Chapter in Stratford on April 27th.

family of Newton visited on
Thursday with Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ruff,
Daryl and Pamela of Brampton
spent the week end with Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Ruff and Gordie.
Mr. Doug Smith, also of Bramp-
ton, was a guest at the same home.
Mrs. Clifford Brewer, David,
Heather and Mark of Oakville
spent the holiday week with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mung
MacFarlane and assisted in
moving them to their new home.
Mr. Denis. Freeman was in
charge of the service in the
Presbyterian Church Sunday.
Next week Sunday School will
be at 10 A.M, with church at
11;30. After that Sunday School
will start at 10;30 A.M.
Visitors on Tuesday after-
noon with Mr. and Mrs. J. J.
Elliott were Mr. and Mrs.Harold'
Grant.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mann
visited Sunday with Mr. John
Mann who is a patient in Vic-
toria Hospital, London.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hall Jr.
arid Daphne of Blenheim visited
on Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Hall.
Mr. and Mrs.Glenn Golley,
David, Dewayne and Dean spent
Wednesday evening with Mr. and
Mrs. •Joe Walker and family.
Sympathy of the community is
extended to Mr. and Mrs. Glenn
Snell and family in the passing
of Mr. John Snell of BruSSels.
EUCHRE PARTY
The Bluevale Recreation
Association held a euchre party
in the Community Hall, Thurs-
day, March 22 with ten tables
playing. Mrs, Wm. Mundell,
Mrs. Doris Adarns and Mr. and
Mrs. Ken McMichael were in
charge.
High Ladies' prize was won
by MrS. ,Tna Eadie, Ladies' IOW
prize went to Mrs. ROSS Mann.
High Man's prize was won by
George Gregg, Low Man's prize
went to Walter Sellers. The
Lucky Draw was won by M rs.
Telehue.
The next party will be held
April 5 with Mr. and Mrs. Burns
Moffatt and Mrs. Ross Mann in
charge.

The written expression of frank opinion on
"Our Hometown Paper" should be at least 250
words but not exceed 700.
Objective is to encourage readers of
Weeklies to think about what their weekly means
to them, their families, their lives and their corn-
niunites, and to set these thoughts down in
straightforward language. Polished literary ex'7.

ested in simple, clear exposition that indicates an
awareness by the reader of the role of the. weak-
