The Brussels pee wees were
eliminated from the Goderich
Young Canada Tournament when
they dropped their opening game
by a 6 - 4 score to an aggres-
sive Plattsville team. Murray
Ducharme gave Brussels a 1 - 1
tie after one period had been
completed but the Plattsville
squad notched 3 goals in the
second to lead 4 - 1 going• into
the final period. Two goals by
Scott Wheeler ,and one by David
watts brought Brussels to .
within 1 goal but Plattsville
scored with only fifty seconds
remaining to clinch the victory.

Curlers have
sucessful
jitney
' Despite a stormy weekend,
the Brussels 'Curling Club were
able to' stage a successful jit-
ney on Monday. A full slate of
16 rinks competed for the prizes
with some good curling and close
contests.
The winners of the 9 o'clock
draw: 1st, Dan Pearson and rink;
2nd, Jim Smith and rink; 3rd,
Leslie Knight and rink; 4th Mur-
ray Hoover and rink.
The 11:30 draw winners: 1st,
Ken Bray and rink; 2nd, Joe
Smith and rink; 3rd Orval Bauer
and rink; 4th, Ross Veitch and
rink.
Tickets are available for the,
Annual Banquet and dance 'to be
held on April 14th in the Royal
Canadian Legion. Secretary,
Norman. Hoover will be glad to
fill your ticket orders.

Brussels Curlers carried off
the overall trophy in the curling
bonspiel held in Listowel on
Saturday, Members of the rink
were Doug Rathwell, skip; Ray
Matheson, vice; John Verbeek,
2nd; Bob Mann, lead.
Competing in the same bon-
spiel, Glen Rathwell's rink were
the consolation winners. The
rink included : Glen Rathwell,
skip; Danny Pearson, vice; Char-
lie Lake, 2nd and CarmanBaker,
lead.
