joyed Thursday evening of last
week when ten tables were in play
at the Western Star card party
held in the Hall.
The lucky winners were:

Low, - Dick Stephenson.
The draw for a turkey was won
by Mrs. Mary Lowe.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Strick-
ler attended the United Church
service in Mitchell on Sunday
morning when Miss Barbara
McPherson, a member of the
Mitchell Church, was a special
speaker. Miss. McPherson has
been in Perth, Australia since
1967. The Strickiers had dinner
with Mr. and Mrs. RalphtAdams
and later all visited in Dundas
with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Worby.
Mrs. Jack Conley was hostess
for the January meeting of the
Evening Group of the W.M.S.
with nine members present. A
New Year's poem was read by
Mrs. Gordon Engel and the Hymn
!'Standing at the Portal" was
sung. Psalm 28: 15-22 was read
in unison. Each member contri-
buted a reading or poem appro-
priate for the beginning of the
year. The roll call was a New
Year's verse. A report on the
. Annual meeting of Presbyterial
held in St. Andrew's Church,
Stratford, was given by Mrs.
Stuart Stevenson. The closing
prayer was by Mrs. Engel. Mrs.
Jack Knight assisted the hostess
