Mr. and Mrs. Carl Freibur ,
ger celebrated their twenty-fifth
wedding anniversary on January
13.
Open house was held at their
home from 3-5 p.m. when about
forty-five neighbours and friends
called. In the evening, at 8:30
p.m. mass was celebrated in the
Sacred Heart Church, Wingham
with their attendants being pre-
sent, Ed. Freiburger of Greenock
and Mrs. Lorraine Huck of Kit-
chener.
A surpirse party with about
45 friends and relatives present
was held after mass at their
residence near Bluevale. Court
. Whist was enjoyed by all. Prizes
went to Mrs. Elmer Weiss, Mrs.
Oscar Kieffer, Ted Whitby, Frank
Caskanette, Mrs. George Frei-
butger, 'and Mrs. Carl Freibur-
ger. A smorgasbord lunch was
served.
The couple received many
gifts. The couple was married
January 13, 1948 in St. Afnn's
Church, Riversdale.
Visitors last weekend at the
'home of Mrs. R.H. McKinnon
were Mr. and Mrs. H. Spence
McKinnon, David and Joan of
Grimsby.
Weekend visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Hall were Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Hall and grandson of
Chatham, Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Scott and family of Newton and
Miss Susan Zeht of Newton.
The Turuberry Ladies' Aid
Group of Bluevale 'Presbyterian
Church met at the borne of Mrs.
Ron Boonstra on Wednesday
afternoon, January 17. There
were 13 ladies present.

REV, JOHN H. KERR
Rev. John H. Kerr, of London,
fo.rmerly of Brussels and Hen-
fryn, passed away in the Dear-
ness Nursing Home, London, on
Saturday. January 20th, in his
91st year.
He is survived by his wife;
the former Mary Elizabeth Hal-
penny, two sons Arnold, of
Ottawa, and Vernet of Vernon,
Conn., U,S, A., and eight grand-
children and -two great-grand-
children.
The late Mr. Kerr rested at
the Peebles Funeral Home, John
St., Atwood, until 1,1 a.m. Tues-
day, When removal was made to
St. John's Anglican Church in
Brussels, for service and com-
mittal at 2 p.m. Interment in
Elma Centre Cemetery.
Melville
Guild meets
Abdut twenty members of the
Melville Church Guild enjoyed a
pot-luck supper in the church
parlour before a meeting which
was opened by Mrs. Brenda
Perrie with a New Years Pray-
er. The topic and prayer were
given by Mrs. Perrie. Mrs.

over the business part of meet-... ing.
opened the meeting with a Scrip,
Lure reading. The secretary-
treasurer, Mrs. G lenn Snell, gave
a financial report. The ladies
spent the afternoon quilting.
Lunch was served by Mrs. Boon ,
stra. The next meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs. Jim
Wright on Feb. '7.
Miss Marie Walker was a
guest Friday evening at the wed-
ding of Miss Gwen Press to Mr.
David Metcalf in Wingham An-
glican Church and the reception
held at the Wingham Armouries.
Mr. and Mrs. George Fischer
were guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Stanley Moffatt on Saturday-eve-
ning.
Mr's. A.D. Smith of Bluevale
and Mrs. Lilliam Gallaher 'of
Wroxeter were supper guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elliott
Friday evening.
The Bluevale-Belmore Young
Pwople's held their meeting in
Belmore Presbyterian Church
Sunday evening.
Visitors, at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Percy Vincent on
Saturday were. Mr. Vincent's
daughters and sons-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. James Annis of New
Brunswick and Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Miller of London.
Mr. Harvey Messer of Toron-
to spent the weekend at his farm
home and visited on Saturday with
his sister Mrs. Raymond Elliott.
Mr. Denis Freeman of Knox
College, Toronto took Mrs. A.D.
Smith to London on Saturday
where they visited Mr. Smith and
Mr. Ross Mann.
Mr, and Mrs. Bob Hall and
family of Shakespear and Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Hall and family of
Brussels visited with their
parents, Mr. and Mf.s. Gordon
Hall on Sunday.
JAMES MARTIN GRAS BY
James Martin Grasby passed
away at the Wingham and District
Hospital on Thu.rsday, January
18, 1973 in his 86th year.
He was born in Morris Town-
ship. He was the son of Joseph
Grasby and Annie Cade. On
January 3, 1912 he was married
in East Wawanosh Township to
Catherine Dunbar, who prede-
ceased him in 1942.
In early life he was a farmer
in Morris Township and in later
life was employed for some time
by the Belgrave Co-Op after re-
tiring from the farm to Belgrave
in 1950. He was a member of
Belgrave United Church.
Be is survived by three daugh-
ters, Mrs. George (Helen) Mar-
tin, Belgrave, Mrs. Cecil (Anna)
Armstrong, Thorndale and Mrs.
James R. (Marjorie) Coultes of
Belgrave. Four grandchild-
ren and three great-grandchild-
ren and one brother, Harry of
Blyth also survive:

were held on. Sunday. January 21
at 1:30 p.m. with temporary en-
tombmeiit in Wingham Cemetery
Chapel.
Pallbeators were Mark Arm-
strong. Tom Cameron ; Gorden
BoStnan, George Michip, Harold
Walsh and Antoci PaSSehier.
Flower bearers were George
Wonnacott, Robert Taylor and
Don Roe.
