News of Walton
Udlit holds
meeting
Correspondent
Mrs.Allan McCall.
The first meeting of the
Walton U.C.W. in 1973 was held
in the basement of the church
with a small attendance. Mrs.
N. Reid was in charge of the
devotions. The topic "What ,do
Those People Want" was given
by Mrs. Edna Hackwell and was
taken from an article by Rev.
Milton a former missionary in
the Philippines. We give help to
these people but with, strings
attached, he said.
Rev. D. Docken presided for
the installation of officers and
the offering was received by Mrs.
Ken McDonald.
Mrs. Neil. McGa.vin presided
for the business and opened this
part of the meeting with 2.4,Chal-
lenge for the New Year. Minutes
were read by secretary, Mrs.
Hackwell.
It was decided to have a Pot-
luck Supper at the Annual. Meeting
Jan. 18.
An invitation was extended to
the Executive to meet with the
Walton Unit-in February.
Mrs. Baan read an interesting
letter from Ghana, Africa where
her son Gerald works.
Mrs. W. Sholdice spent
Christmas with' her daughter and
family Mrs. Ian Wilbee, walton.
Those visiting with Mr. and
Mrs. Ian Wilbee for Christmas ,
were Mr. and Mrs. P. Paul, Mr.
-and Mrs. H. Giles and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Wilbee and
Bruce and Mrs. R. Wilbee of
Ethel.
Miss Jennifer ' Kirkby,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Douglas
Kirkby is a patient in Sick Child-
ren's War Memorial Hospital,
London. We wish her a speedy
recovery.
The Institute euchre parties
will resume on Friday evening.
Mr. abd Mrs. Keith Rock
and 'Jannette spent Christmas
Day at the home of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rinn, Bel-
grave. Jannette • remained with
her grandparents for the holi-
days. i

reminded of their monthly meet-

Lynne McDonald returned home.
from an enjoyable motor trip to
Florida where they visited many
interesting places including
Disney World and Cypress Gar-
dens.

have arrived home from a holi-
day in Florida.
Mr. Bid Bell 'returned to
Westminister Hospital, Lon-
don, on Sunday for further treat-
ment. We hope his stay will be

ference, will be presenting their
report. They were, Clayton and
Dianne Fraser, Joan Bennett,

Changes in the order of ser-
vice will be introduced on suggds-tion of the Session: The sermon
will be near the end, and we
will sing four hymns. Mission
Band will meet Sunday at 11:15
i a.m. and the Youth Club will meet
at 8:15 p.m.
An adult Bible Class will
begin next Sunday Evening at
8:30 p.m. in the Manse.
