The funeral took place to Maitland
cemetery on Monday. April 21, Rev.
R. C. 'MrDcrmid conducting the serv-
ices. The patibearers were Messrs. t@.
Murray. Johu Graham. J. N, Kernlg-
han and Joseph Swafileld. A brother
of the deceased, Sir. Will Gardiner, of
Non's Heed. and a sister, Mrs. Fred
McCracken, of Brussels, were present.
A brother at Dauphin. Man., James
Gardiner, and a sister, Mr4. Thornton,
of Edmonton/ were unable to attend.

Medicine Hat. Alberta, ou Saturday
Last, after an operation for appendici-
tis, wss born in Goderich October 10,
1894, the son of Mr. J. J. Moore. The
family later removed to Benmlller,
where the dev'twwvl received his edu-
cation and where he lived until the
year 1913, when he went to the West
for a short time. later he took *
farm at Erntold. Sask.. which he had
sins* held, although he spent a good
part of 1921 and 1922 In llenmlller and
G.xlerlch. In 1920 he married Miss
IEsther Westwlek. of }:rnfold, He is
survived by his wife, his father, .1. J.
Moore of Goderich. and his brother.
IR. J. Moore of Itenmilter. The re-
mains are being brought here for in-
terment and the funeral will take
place on, Friday afternoon from the
residenee of J. W. Gledhill. Benmlller
(uncle of the deeasedI, to C'olhwrne
cemetery.

her daughter In Goderich, her Ilfe was
spout in the township in which she

traveller upon the highway of life was
nourished by her, as she was never
known to turn anyone away hungry.
All were welcome to her home. She
leaves behind her to cherish the love
of a mother and grandmother four
sous, two daughters, twenty-slz grand-
children and sixteen great -grand.

(Mrs. Wm. Hawkins/, died in 1917.
Her surviving children are: William
G. Bogie, Lake Shore road; Thomas.
of Penticton, R.C.; Robert, of Shep-
pardton ; Alex., on t1R old homestead:
Mary (Mrs. Wm. Rome). Toronto, and
Agues (Mrs. G. 11. Green). Goderlch.
The funeral took plat- to Colborne
cemetery on Thursday last. The dorsi
tributes and the large number of
friends from her native township who
followed her remains to the place of
interment showed the high esteem In
which she was held.. Rev, R. C. Me-
Dermld conducted servers at house
and grave. and the pallbearers were
four grandchildren: Reuben Bogie,
Andrew Bogie, Bert Bogie and Frank
Ilo wk Ins.

Sermons to large Congregation&
The specwl anniversary services in
Victoria street Methodist church last
Sunday were conducted by a former
pastor. Rev. J. Frank Reycraft, of
Wellington street Methodist church.
Itrantford. Rev. Mr, Reycraft e1 -
pressed his great pleasure in being
privileged to address his former con-
gregation, while the congregation In
turn was no less pleased to hear bpm
again.
Taking as his subjects, morning and
evening. "The Master of the Kingdom"
and "The Kingdom of the Master," lir.
Reycraft preached two eloquent and
forceful sermons to congregations
which filled the church to Its eapactty.
The fact that Mr. Reycraft lues been
placed in one of the biggest Methodist
church's in the city of Brantford
speaks for Itself as to his eminent
capabilities and powers as a preacher
of the Gospel. He was listened to with
the closest attention, at the evening
service for upwards of forty -Ave
minutes.
The choir, resplendent In gowns
since Mr. Reycraft's time, rendered
special music doting the day under
the direction of Mr. Harry T. Barker,
organist of the church. At the evening
service the anthem, "At even ere the
sun was set." was given, 1n excellent
style, and Mr, Fred llolmea fang
"Abide With re' in good voice. The
congregational ringing was of a high
order and of a very Inspirational
cbaraetet. Mt. Reycraft had tbe con-
gregation sing one of l,la favorite
hymns, "Breathe on Me, Breatb of
God." to conclude the day's services.
