Robbie, the thirteen -year-old son of
James McGregor, near Kippen. met with
a painful accident the other day. The
young lad fell out of an apple tree, strik-
ing his elbow and knocking the arm out
of place at the shoulder. The shoulder
bones were set by a local doctor but

was taken to the hospital

The death occurred at London on
August 1st of Frances Constable, widow
of the late Charles Brodie, a former
highly esteemed resident of Seaforth. at
the advanced age of eighty years. The
funeral took place from the residence d
her son, Charles Brodie, Sealorth, to
Maitlandbank cemetery.

On Wednesday. July 28th, at the home
of W. J.Greer. his sister, Miss Elisabeth,
was united in marriage to Albert Welch, (I
of Toronto. Rev. R. J. M. Perkins. of
Chatham. cousin of the bride, was the
officiating clergyman. After a trip to
Quebec Mr. and Mrs. Welch will make
their home at Toronto.
William Linklater, one of the few re-
maining pioneers of this section, passed
away at his home in Lower Wingham on
Monday. August 2nd, in his ninety-first
year. He was born in Scotland and came
to Canada in the early '50's. a few years
later settling in East Wawanosh. when
Wingham was a mere hamlet. He was a
'Presbyterian and a staunch Liberal. His
wife died a number of years ago and the
surviving children are James H., of
Turnberry; John F., of Teeswater: Wm.
S.. of Wingham; Thomas. at home: Mrs.
