' The big event of last week in ; sporting circles in Godench was the HOUSE WORK exhibition game of baseball between Simcoes ;the second -pace team in the East Riverdale Senior League, Toronto) and the Goderich team, which took place at Agricultural Park on Monday night. ! The Simcoes came up at full streogth, and as the Goderich ,team Oaf the same as payed at Blyth, with the exception of the shortstop. a real snappy brand of ball was dished up for the large crowd present. Simcoes started the scoring in the first innings on a walk and two wild throws. They added two more in the second on two hits and two sacrifices. This ended • i their scoring until the sixth, wnen ,they brought 'their total up to four on a hit, an error and a sacrifice. Goderich went out in order in the first, btui in the ,second they got three runs on hits by Bisset. Barlow. Webb and Carrick. They added , their fourth and last run in the fourth. The Millers, however, had no respect either for his fame or feelings. and hammered his offer- ings to'all corners of the lot for the five innings that he worked. On the other hand.
