The first game on the scht duce of the

played in Goderich wall pulled off at

but clever aggregation from Zurich. At
2.30 o'clock, Mayer Wigle. as pitcher,
Mr. H. J. D. Cooke, president of the club,
as batsman, and Councillor T.H. •MltchetI

him a chance to show what he could do -
but anyway the game was "opened."
The real players took.' their positions,
Zurich g..ing to bat first. In the first
innings three men got to first base by
being hit by the God:rich pitcher and
Zurich scored three runs. In the fifth
innings ragged play on the .part of the
home team allowed Zurica• to score five
runs, and with four more during the
remainder of the game the visitors had a
total of twelve runs. Goderich got one in
each of the fourth. h(th and ninth innings.
Though the score was so one-sided. the
game was interesting, both teams playing
good ball except on a few occasions when
the heals seemed to lose their grip.' This
"Was probabl> •the result of lack of prac-
tice. M a matter of fact, the whole team
had not played together before they went

M EASU-REGRAPH
ALWAYS watchful for the improvement of
our store service, we beg to advise our
patrons that we have installed the 'wonderful
machine known as the Measuregraph-a ma-
chine that not only measures goods accurately
but at the same time computes the cost. There-
fore in place of the usual unavoidable delay in
figuring the cost of the material bought, the ma-
chine shows, instantaneously', both the number
of yards measur\l and the total cost, so that
besides guarding ot. customers against receiving
short measure, it protects them from being over-
charged. . '\
While the Measuregraph has been in Ilse in the large stores
for the past three years and is rekarded as essential equipment in
the selling of piece goods, the Colborne Store, as ever striving to-
wards efficient service, has just installed the machine.
Come in and see it. Our salespeople will be glad to show
you the machine and explain the working of this wonderful instru-
ment. It is to be found in the Staple Department.
