years. Mr. Creech was born in Somerset -
shire, England, coming 'o Canada when
a boy. He is survived by hi• wife. one
son, James W.. of Rochester, N. Y. , and
one daughter, Mise Jessie, at home.

The bin storm did serious damage in
Exeter. Part of the wall and root of the
Exeter Canning Co.'s factory, was blown
down. At the salt works part of the large
metal smokestack was blown off and a
portion of the roof was ripped away.

Holmes and Sherriff. A brother, Roderick,
lives in Ashfield. The remains were ,
brought -to Lucknow for interment.

The death of Georg' Hayes occurred at
his home here on Monday of last week,
after a few days' illness. He was in his
srventy- seventh year. Before coming to
C inion Mr. Hayes lived. near Lucknow
and afterwards near Summerhill. He is
survived by his second wife and ted
sons by his first marriage, Harry G. and
John Hayes of Detroit.
John R. Hall, a great war veteran,
died Monday of (est week at the age of
twenty-four years. He enlisted tor
oversees service with the 3?rd Battalion
and while at the front was badly gassed•
and had since not been as robust as
before. His only relative here is a miter,
Mrs. Tideswell of Holmesville. Ile was
buried with military honors.

east attending the annual meeting of the
Canadian Press Association.

Hay: one of the oldest and hest -known
residents of the town. had passed away
after an illness of several months from an
internal trouble. Mrs. Hays had leen
confined to bed for five weeks, and
previous to that for some months her
decline in h':a1Bt had been notxeabte. lu
fact, she never recovered Irom the blow
duped by the death of her youngest son,
! Scutt Hays, who was killed in action in
France June, 1916. Towards the ,ad she

Hays was the youngest daughter of the
lite Robert Scott, Bankhead Farm, Mc-
Killop. where She was born sixty-six. yearly

I1i74, when s .e went to reside on the
farm still owned by Mr. Hays on the 3rd
concession of McKillop. Twenty-three
years ago they retired from the (a.'rrt and
had since made their home in Seaforth.

chur.h, Seaforth and h t presence will
not oily be missed there but in the differ-
ent women's organizati,:ns in connection
with the church work, in which she was
active. Besides her husband she i, sur-
vived by one son and one da fighter, Mrs.
E. C. Munro, of Amazdn. Slskatcbewan,
and Mr. W. T. Hays, of Toronto, and
also by four brothers, Messrs. Arch
Scott. of Seaforth; James, of Edmonton;
Joseph, of'Montana, and )ohn; of Rolf -
bo ro. and one sister, Mrs. T. Wells. Of
Missouri. The funeral took place on
Satprday afternoon.
'The pasting -of Isabella MacK iy Mc-
ntosh. at the age of eighty-one. at her
home in Seaforth on Friday l.i-t marked
the depart•ire of another of the few re-
maining early s•ttlers of McKillop town-
ship. The cause of her death was
pneumonia. Sh • was a na• ive of Zaire,
and was a eater of the late famous
pioneers missionary, Dr. G. L. Mact(ay of
Formosa. the family retired to Srafarth
from th' (.rm a sew years ago. the aged
husband dying shortly afterwards. Two
daughters at home survive. and six sons,
the latter residing away fro m here.
