- The "big wind" of November 29th will
be a landmark of Provincial history for
many yeah tocome.
My goodnes , it's lucky that the big
wind did not wait for Chn'tmas Eve.
Even hardy old Santa would never be
able to get around in such a gale.
St. Andrew's Nicht can no longer be
celebrated with ''scotch;" perhaps a
merciful dispensation this year when
there were no lights to help the joyous
ones home. _-

'othing more revolutionary has hap -
tied in the British House of Commons
than the return of Lady Astor for Sutton
since 1832. It cannot well be agreed that
Lady Astor was returned as a Unionist.
Her vote was 2,600 below that of her
husband in the last election. The Liberal
vote had increased about 700 and the
Labor vete had come near doubling with
an increase of 3,958 votes. Here is an in
crease in the voting strength of 4.609 votes
and a decrease of the Unionig
vo:e of 2,596. Lady Astor. how•
