had a very successful tea and sale tit
corking on Saturday last. Everything
was sold, and of the proceeds the sum of
$25 was donated to the Soldiers' Memor-
ial Fund. The young ladies wish to
express their sincere thanks to all who
assisted them, especially to Mr. G. C
McCreath for the use of the store, Mr.
W. J. Marks. who kindly arranged the
lighting. and M. John Thompson and
Rev. J. F. Reycraft for their services.
Children's Aid Satiety.
The Children's Aid Society will resume
its monthly inseti:igs this month and will
meet next Tuesday. lith inst.. at 4.15
p. m., in the court house. The officials
of the Society would like to see a large
attendance 01 friends of the children.
Quinlan—leoung.
A very pretty wedding was solemnized
in St. Peter's church. Goderi.h, on Wed-
nesday. October 8th. when Miss Loretta
Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James
Young, of Loyal. and Mr. Terence J.
Quinlan. of Stratford. were united in the
holy bunds of matrimony. Rev. Father
Quinlan, brother of the groom, performed'
the marriage ceremony and sang the
nuptial high mass. Rev. Father McRae.
parish priest, Rev. Monsignor Magee, of
Stratford, vested in his pu-ple robes.
Rev. Father Hussey and Father Young,
cousins of the bride, and Rev. Father
Ronan. of St. Marys, were also present in
the sanctuary. Mr. Chas Muss acted as
usher. The bride, who was given away
by her father. was neatly attired in her
travelling suit of navy blue gabardine
with mink collar, with large French
picture hat to match. and carried a ax -
sage bouquet of white and pink American
Beauty ruses. She was assisted by her
sister. Miss Eliza. while \ir. Joseph
Quinlan, brother of the groom. acted as
groomsman. After the marriage cere-
mony a dinner was served to the priests
and near relatives at the residence of the
bride', parents. the dining room bring
I prettily decorated in autumn tints. to-
gether with 'erns and pink and white
; asters. the bride wearing hes reception
dress of taupe georg-tte beaded with
turg.. ise. Many interesting and clever
toasts were showered upon the bride and
groom. After the dinner Mia Mabel
noungand Mrs. Jas. Young. sister -In-
law of the .ride, rendered the violin solos
"Till We Meet Again' and "Farewell."
The groom's gift to the bnde was a set of
diamond earrings to the bridesmaid a
gold wnst.et watch. and to the grooms-
man a set of gold cuff -links. Many and
beautiful gifts. including cheques were
present -d, showing the high esteem in
which the young couple art held. Mr.
and Mrs. Quinlan left on the afternoon
train. amid showers of confetti and good
wishes. for a short honeymoon t ip and
on their return they will reside at Strat-
ford.•—
