On Monday evening of last week a
public reception for Pte. Verne Gledhill,
Pte. Arthur Barber, Ed. Mil ion. Harvey
Fisher and Wm. Mitchell as held in
Benmiller church. We were also pleased
to have with us Serge -Maio( Herbert
Maedel, of the United States army, who
was visiting with his grandmother here.
Rev. Messrs. Campbell and Kennedy and
Mr. William Bailie. of Gederich. gave
splendid addresses. while Miss Winnie
anstone, soloist. and Miss Edna Rivers,
elocutionist, of Goderich. assisted in
making the program a huge success. A
large number were present and after-
wards all sojourned to the Temperance
Hall. were lunch was provided.

tions for admission must be made immedi-
ately to the Deputy Minister of Educa-
tion.
The Normal Schools will open on Tues.
day, September 16. at 9 a. m at which
time all candidate* must prevent them-
selves. Applicants are required to be
eighteen years of age before October 1.
