THE LADS IN KHAN.
Pte. Heber Powell, son of Mr. and Mrs.
W. J. Powell, has returned from overseas
after three years of acvtic 'with the
Canadian Army Medical Carps. He
went overseas in July of 1916 and was in
England for lux weeks before going to
France. He left France about the middle
of March last and is now back to "civies"
and civilian pursuits.
Driver Alex. Straiton, who returned
this week from overseas, enlisted in the
spring of 1916and trained for the artillery
at Guelph, going overseas in September
of the same year. In 1917 he went to
France and was with the British army
through the fighting of that fall and in
1918 and went on Into Germany with the
victorious army, crossing the Rhine to
Sieburg, where his corps was stationed.
'On his way back to Belgium he took the
-flu." from the effects of which he is
not yet Quite free, though he looks well
and fit.
4mong the boys who have returned the
last week is Corp. Frank H. Doty, wbo
was overseas for over two years. He
trained at Montreal, crossed to England
in December, 1916, and to France in
August. 1917. being attached to the 7th
McGill Siege Battery. He went through
some heavy fighting along with the Im-
perial troops. •
Major H. C. Dunlop arrived home
Monday night after spending three year.
overseas. He was one of the officers,of
the 71st Battalion, organised in 1915,
which went overseas in March. 1916.
