The committee appointedty the county

Taylor, wife of Reeve Taylor of Blyth,
who was killed while driving an automo-

boundary last November. has made a
settlement with Mrs. Taylor by paying
her $1,000.

shelter is making the handling of cases
much more convenient and effective, as
it will now no longer be necessary to send
children to another county er city for
temporary care till homes can be found

Handed amount to Red Gross Society.
The officials in connection with the reg-
istration of Jinn 22nd last in South Huron
have harried over to the Red Cross So-
ciety the amount they received as remun-
eration for their services. The following
letter in acknowledgment of this generous

Cross Society:

the 18th inst. to our bon. treasurer. en-
closing cheque for $637.30, which you
state is the amount of remuneration of

which they have assigned as a donation
to the Canadian Red Cross Society.
1 am requested to convey the cordial
thanks of our executive to all those con-
cerned for their generous and self-sacrific-
ing action on behalf of the Red Cross.
This very generous contribution will be of
material a-sistance to ua in our work, and

The winter sitting of the Supreme
Court of Justice for Ontario will open at
the court house on Tuesday next. 18th
inst., before Mr. Justice Lennox. Besides
a number of civil actions, the case against
E. G. Cross, as a rsault of the fatal auto-
mobile accident in Goderich on the 234d
of December last, will be tried. Mr.
Dudley Holmes. K. C., of Wingham,
will be the Crown prosecutor.
