Died on Homeward Journey.
A very sad elent was the death of Mr.
Garnet Wigle. a nephew of Mrs. Sinclair,
Britannia road, which occurred at Camp-
bellton.N. B., on Saturday last. while he
was returning to his home at Sackville,
N. B.. after a visit to .Godench. The
young man was here for a week -end visit
to his a1mt. leaving on Tuesday of last
week. tie was not in 'good health. hav-
ing been troubled (a some time with a
kidney affection. but his friends here
were quite unprepared for the news of his
death. He was twenty -ate years of age
and was the only son of Rev. Hamilton
µ igle. president of Mount Allison Univer-
sity' at Sackville. N. B. His mother is a
sister of Mrs. Sinclair.
Navy League Canvass.
Up to this morning. the Navy League
canvass in Guderich had brought in the
sum of $'2,111.1.32. with mote to come in.
The sum named includes- 11112 received
from Bay field. The result of the campaign
is regarded as Very satisfactory. and
thanks are due the energetic workers who
carried it out.

sudden death at Kitchener of Mr. A-thur
Edward Townshend, formerly of Goderich.
Mr. Townshend had for some time been
• subject to attacks of heart failure, rand it
was in one of these that his death oc-
urred this morning. The remains will be
brought to Goderich and the funeral will
take place Monday afternoon from the re-
sidence of the deceased's sister. Mrs. An-
drew Halliday. Ba field road, un Monday
afternoon. Mr. Townstead was in his
forty-fifth year and is survived by his wife
and two young children. a boy of tweive
11 years and a girl of eight.
