A very sad elent was the death of Mr. Garnet Wigle. a nephew of Mrs. Sinclair, Britannia road, which occurred at Camp- bellton.N. B., on Saturday last. while he was returning to his home at Sackville, N. B.. after a visit to .Godench. The young man was here for a week -end visit to his a1mt. leaving on Tuesday of last week. tie was not in 'good health. hav- ing been troubled (a some time with a kidney affection. but his friends here were quite unprepared for the news of his death. Ottawa, Sept. 4. -Thanksgiving Day this year has been fixed by the Govern- ment for Monday, October 14. in select- ing Monday the Government has con- formedt5 the practice adopted in recent years. Formerly Thanksgiving Day usually fell on a Thursday in late October or November, but the Commercial Travellers' Association and other bodies agitated for a Monday holiday earlier in the season in order to increase the op- portunity for family reunions during the season of thanksgiving.
