Muazk--Mtusa.-A very pretty
wedding took place on Tuesday. April
2nd. at 'Westview," St. Helens. the
home of Mrs. R. K. Miller. when her
youngest daughter, Christens Robertson.

The ceremony was performed at 11.30
a. m. by Rev. J. Little. The bride, who
was given away by het brother, Mr.
Isaac Miller, looked charming in a dress
of white silk crepe -de -chine and carried a
bouquet of white roan and ferns. She
wore a sunburst bf pearls, the lift of tbe
grotan. Miss Laura Currie played the
wedding music. The rooms were taste-
fully. decorated with carnations and ferns.
The presents were beautiful and numer-
oue, sh .wing the popularity of the young
people. A dainty wedding breakfast
was served, the tables be ng waited upon
by tow girl friends. The bride and
groom left amid showers of confetti and
motored to Lucknow, where they tools
the afternoon U-ain for Toronto. There
were about forty guests at the wedding.
Those from a distance were: Miss Wal-
lace anal Mr.lker from Barrie. Misses
Fletcher from-.Isonbure. Misses Cun-
ningham from Wa erton, Mr. and Mr.

Wednesday.
Miss Ursula O'Connor and Miss
Bernadette O'Loughlin, nurses in train-
ing at St. Joseph's hospital. Chatham,
are spending their vacation at their
homes here.
Miss Margaret Garvey has returned to
her school near Guelph. Miss Marie
Sullivan to her school at St. Columban,
Misses Patricia and Madeline Sullivan to
their studies in London, and Mr. M. J.
Dalton to Assumption College, Sandwich.

church on We$rtesdel- April 3rd. when
Miss Mary Josie Dalton. second daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Dalton. was un-
ited in marriage to Mr. John Cleary, of
Oshawa. The bride was given away by
her father and wore a navy blue gaber-
dine costume and carried a large bouquet
of bridal roses. She was attended by
her cousin. Miss Margaret Garvey. who
wore a becoming green costume trimmed
with graand carried a bouquet of pink

brother. Mr. Thomas Cleary. of Mount
Forest. The ceremony was conducted
by Rev. Father McCormack. after which

FRIDAY, April 5th.
Mrs. Robert Buchanan arrived homy
on Friday, after spending a month visit-
ing her daughter. Mrs. Wm. Govier, Vine-
land.
Mr. Sampson Carter has purchased a
dwelling in Belgrave and gets possession
May 1st. Mr. and Mrs. Carter will be
much missed in the neighborhood being
old residents and ever ready to help
those in meed. We sincerely hope they
will be spared to spend many happy days
in their new home.

Robert Stirling of the 7th concession and
a brother of Mason Stirling and

went out years ago to California and was

a wife and one child.

daughter. Emma L, became the bride of

11, East Wawanostt.. The bride was
given away;by her fattier, Mr. J. N. Camp-

She looked most titarnting in a dress of
silk crepe de chine. and carried a beauti-
ful cluster of punk and white carnations.

Robertson, who has sold his tine (arm of
150 acres to Mr. Green, of Hay township,
for 311,500. Both these men have had
large and successful auction sales of
their farm stock :.nd implement+. All
are pleased that Mr. McLean is going to
remain in his house and all are sorry to
lose Mr. Robertson, as I.e goes to Hen -
sail to live. He will be greatly missed
in the Presbyterian church, where he has
been an elder and a splendid worker for
many years. Mrs. James Chesney has
been offered 38,300 for her farm, but she
has decided to work it herself if she can
get a good man. She is offering 350 a
month to a suitable one.

getting the land cultivated ready for
seed. As yet no seed has been sown
around here.
All our holiday visitors have departed
for their several occupations. They had
the very best of weather for their holiday-

We have to report the illness of an-
other of the older ladies in the person of
Mrs. Bogie, w., who hat a severe attack
of la grippe. Mrs. Bogie has hitherto en-
joyed the heft of health. although at a
goal ofd age, and we hope to hear of her
speedy
recovery.

at the hone of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cook.
Mrs. Gavin Clutton. of Stratford,
