Examinations Next Wada -Good Num-
ber of Boys Win Do Pars Work.
The examinations for grant ng depart-
mental and matriculation certificates on
farm work and enlistment kr overseas
service are to be hell nett week at Gods
rich Collegiate Institute. The middle and
upper school examinations begin at 10
a. m. and the lower school at 1.30 p. m.
of Monday, ApntS1l. About nine are
wnting on the middle school examina-
tions, one on the upper school and about
six on 'the lower school. Copies of the
examination papers het by the staff have
to be sent to the f ucation Department
before the examinatjpris begin.
A goodly number of boys who are not
going forward to departmental certifi-
cates are going out to farm work during
the month of April. A larger number of
the younger boys are also prepared to go
out for two month. after examinations
are over about the mild& of Jutta.
The conditions under which boy*. not
taking the rttsantal examinations,
are granted their ma/notion to a higher

School closed on Thursday last for
the Easter vacation and will reopen at

Dr. H. 13. Spotton made the annual
inspection of the Collegiate March 18th
to 21st. His visits are always helpful
and kindly.
The Collegiate Cadets. who are this
year under the instruction of Cadet Cap-
tain Philip Carey, have been ableto
carry on their drill in the square oa
Elgin avenue, at the foot of Montreal
street. during the past three weeks. They
are coming on well and will be in good'
form for inspection early in May.
Miss "Dickson,' of the teaching staff,
went colter home at Toronto for the va-
cation and will attend the meeting of the
Ontario Educational Association. Mies
Clifford is at her home in Perth county
for the holidays.
The millinery dames under Miss
K one resumed work the last week in
February with an attendance of about
