A large crowd was at the G. T. R.
station N'ednesday Evening to welcome
two more returning soldiers. Hes. Ernest
McGrattan and Frank Berry. The boys
were met by Ilis Worship Mayor Wigle,
Mr. George Porter. secretary of the Sol -
diets' Aid Commission, and Mr. G. W.
Holman, county clerk. and amidst much •
cheering were escorted to the Square,
where short addresses were given by the
Mayor and Mi. Holman.
Pte. !Sit -Grattan is one of three sons of
Mrs. N1cGrattan. Bruce street, who have
been in the khaki. Ernest enlisted in the!
161st Battalion. but soon after getting to
England,was transferred to the 1Vesterii i
Ontario Regimental Detest and later to
the 25th Reserves. He was in hospital •
for three months on account of illness and
will go to Guelph for further treatment.
Pte. Berry lived in Colborne township
before enlisting sith the Ililst. Some
time after reaching England he was trans-
ferred to a battalion in France. where he
took part in the fighting near Lens in
June last and was wounded in both arms.
