George, (luderich, a history which •tranches [neck to what is, tor this part of Canada. the long ago. It is eighty year, since the Snot Anglican services were held in the town, being conducted by Rev. J. Campbell. the first lector, in a barn adapted for the purpose. in thew eighty year, there have been only five rectors of this pariah, the present rector, whose miuistry has so suspiciously com- menced, being the sixth. Rev. Mr. Campbell was succeeded iu turn by the late Ven. Archdeacon Elwood. Rev. Canon Young. Rev. Mark Turn- bull and Rev. J. B. Fotheriogbam. The induction of the new rector, Rev. A. I,. (1e Clarke, took place on Thursday evening last, and the cere- mony, as is the case with all the crre- muniel of the cbuteb, was most the preemies and in,truttive. It com- fornoed with the processional bymn, "The Church's One Foundation," wbicb was rendered In full choral evensong by the late rector, Rev. J. B. Futheringhaw. and choir to 'Pallia' festal setting. Proper Psalms were chanted ani proper 'salons appointed for the occasion were read by Rev. Rural Iran Robinson, B. A., of Clin- ton, and Rev. J. After the hymn. "Breathe on me, Meath of God," had beeu sung by the phoir the sermon was preached by the Archdeacon from the Epistle of St. 1'.lrl to theTheosalonians. During the off' story the choir sang Richardson's setting of the anthem "0 bow amiable are thy dwellings," the usual offertory .entente. and "God Save the King," and after the pronouncing of the benediction the last verse of the hIma "Eternal Father. strong to save, not recollection of those who are serving in army and navy overseas and at home. Hence misleading reports re - Reeding the work of the Y. M. C. A. were not corrected and false ideas be- came prevalent, as was the case w101 the Red Crow and Patriotic funds a year or two ago. Mistakes are, of course, made in Y. M C. A. won k as well as in other branches of military service. But the motto of the •'Y" is "Serving Soldiers," and they are living up to thio, and are not in for graft or making money out of the soldier•.
