The Real Thing in War Pictures.
Everybody should see the great pic-
tures of 'The Battle of the Somme"
at the Model Theatre next Monday
and Tuesday. The British Govern-
ment sanctioned the film as an official
!Alfieri( al record of one of the greatest
eppisodes in British history, and it is
the first war film that was ever al-
lowed to pass without coming under
the official British censru•ehip. The
nut horities of the War Office ordered
thst no change. or cuts, ore made after
the film woe once issued for public es-
hibition. This flim is given to the
Empire to commemorate the glorious
achievement of the eltitish volunteer
army - Kitchener's army - which
broke the deadlock of two yeses'
standing on the western front, and
outmatched the hest trained and
equipped professional army the world
ever saw. No sacrilegious changes
were to be made in the wonderful
Olin that recorded their victory.
