Mr.W. H. Robertson, who was pres- ent, stated that Mr. Baechler was in no way responsible for the article that had appeared in The Signal. but he asked what position the council would be in it a fire should occur at the fac- tory. In reply Mayor Reid claimed that the building was praetrcally fire- proof and the hoes recently purchased placed the factory in as good a posi- tion as most of the other factories.
