GRANT OF 151,000 FOR NATIONAL
PATRIOTIC FUND.

The town council held its regular
meeting on Friday evening. Council-
lor McClinton was absent.
A letter was read from Dr. A. H.
Macklin, now of Dublin, Ireland, mak-
log for • rebate on his income tax, ea
be was paying a heavy ioeome tax to
Britain and was not now deriving any
income from Godsrkh. The matter
was referred to the mutt of revision.
Deputy Reeve L•ithwaIte again
brought up the matter of building a
wagon -shad and worrisome no the town
lot at the rear of the town hall. After
some discussion a motion to build the
shed, at• cost not to exceed �r77.60,
was earl ied.
The council is accepting the offer of
Mr. John Young to lerd tits town
sufficient funds to construct a sewer
on Lighthouse street. The matter was
sent to the public works committee to
have the necew.ary bylaw prepared.
A deputation of sown- twenty citi-

Comedian patriotic food. and •.ked

to that fund. Sheriff Reynolds, Rev.
J. B. Fotberiugham and Mr. G. M.
Elliott addressed the council. Mach

to vote the money.
Mayor Reid said he was 'lad to see
such a representative bodyof men
