be drafted by the special committee
and sent to the homily of the tete

Councillor Wigle wanted to know
who would assume the work of the late
Reeve on the various committees.
Mayor Reid was of the opinion that
the Deputy Reeve automatically took
the Reeves plare. Deputy Reeve
Lithwaite said be would serums the
responsibility if the council was sails -

Deputy Revs Laithwaite asked the
opinion of the council as to Ibe advis-

Relief Was Found.
There 1s still a very prevalent belief
that rheumatism is due to cold or wet
weather. This belief is probably due
to the fact that when the blood is thin
and watery there is an acute sensi-
tiveness to atmoppberic conditions and
• change to wet weather often means
a return of the excruciating pains.
Rheumatism, however, ie rooted In
the blood. and it can only be drives
from the system bybuilding up and
estkeing the bloo. Hot baths and'
outward applications of liniment may
give tempor•aay relief, but cannot cur?.
If the disease is no, attacked through
the blood, it simply (•stems Itself more
firmly on the system and the sufferer
ultimately becomes hopelessly crip-
ptpd. The troth of this is proved b
the ease of Mrs. Frank Ford, of Cal -

DRESSMAKING DEPARTMENT
NOW OPEN
Miss Coutts has returned from her vacation
and the Dressmaking Department is now
open for business. We strongly recom-
mend early placing of orders, not only to
insure prompt delivery but on account of
the acarcity of fabrics, as assortments of
desirable materials, for suits particularly,
will be much restricted later in the season.
At present we are showing a splendid as-
sortment of suitings in both plain and
fancy eaves, broadcloths, tweed and
fancy mixtures, in the popular
blue, dark greens, browns, etc.
