On Saturday morning, 14th Most.,
a fire of unknown origin destrot-ed a
building forming part of the old Fisher
foundry plat at Kiocardice. The
•farm was turned in shortly after mid-
night and, despite the effective work
of the brigade, only the wally remain
sanding. The building was in use by
the Hunter Bridge k Beeler Co. as •
storehouse for patterns and moulds,
some of which will be difficult to re-
place. A suspicious circumstance in
cennectlon with the fire is that the
building is within thirty feet of the
fact cry that will sbottly he in readi-
ness for the manufacture of shells fcr
the British Government. for which
the Hrmter Company bold" • contract.
The old frame structure with its con-
tents of wooden patterns and moulds,
besides crake, burned like tinder and
the blaze could 13. seen for miles
