The keenest regret Is felt among all
dames of eitls•ue of Uoderich at the
death of Mrs. Tho. M. Davis, which
occurred this l thursday) morning at
her bola. Mrs. Davis (then Mies
Griffiths) was the Mut superintendent
of Alexandra hospital, and he'd the
position for eight years. resigning
shortly before her marriage two years
ago. She was not only admired for
the executive ability she Misplayed in
carrying on the work of the hospital,
but she was held in the warmest re-
gard by those who came in coot•et
with ber and knew her good, unselfish
life. She was a member of Mt. George's
church and took • great interest in
church and charitable work. She we.
a daughter of the late .lobe H and
Mr. Griffiths. of Loodoo, and besides
ber husband. for whom the utmost

their infant daughter. she leaves five

John H. Armstrong, whose death
was an4ounced last week. had not
been in good health for the past two
years and the end came peacefully at
the home of his son, Nelson. He was
born al Kingston. Ont., in the year
IMO and came to Huroo county with
his parents when a child of three. The
family settled on a farm in Hay town•
*hip and deceased continued in farm-
ing operations until the year IStttt,
when be came to lioderich, where be
hal since resided. Besides his. wife,
three children, Mrs. Wm. Sproul and
Nelson Atmatroug, of Goderich, and
Frank Armstrong. of Port Huron,
survive; also two brothers, Noah. of
Port Huron, and William. of Hay
township, and three sister., tkho reside
at Port Angeles, Washington, on, U. S. A.
The funeral took place on Saturday
Iart from the residence of Nelson Arm-
strong on Palmerston street. the ser-
vices being conducted by Rev. J. I3.
Fotberinthaw. The pallbearers were
Merin D. Clark. 3. Sproul, D. Sproul.
B. Potts, J. Oke and Wm. Waite. The
interment took place in Maitland
