committee was presented. es follows :

on automobile tax refund was pre-
sented as follows: Owing to the
motion being passed •t s tate hour
last session, we were unable to ask
the co-operation of other county

that each member of the committee

Legislature representing this county
and having done so a meeting with

His Honor Judge Holt has delivered
ludgwent to the case of Francis Holum -
surd vs. the County of Huron. The
plaintiff's claim ewes that as police
magistrate for the townships of Mc-
Kil and Tuckeeaaitb and the town
of Sartori!' he was entitled to au
amount representing rent cf office,
fuel, light and furniture tor the years
1910.14, inelndre. The amount claimed
was $500, at the rate of .100 • year tor
Ave years His Honor fled* that a
pollee office was provided bythe town
of Seeforth and that the pinti(T bas
no claim as regards that municipality.
In the year Illlu it was enae•ted [teat

and furniture for the police magistrate
for the county or for any part there-
of," and His Honor holds that uuder
this legislation the plaintiff can es-
tablish his claim with respect to the
townaLips of Tuckersinith and Mc-

office of his own, the wunicit.altties
did not consider it necessar to supply
hien with en office ; but His Honor
bolds that he is entitled to recover
the following amounts : For office rent,

Councillor Wilson Satisfied Regarding
Famous Report No. 2.
The town council met on Friday
evening, Councillor McClinton being
absent. Mayor Reid presided.
A communication was read from the
city clerk of Kingston asking the

The Mayor reed some cotresptn.l-
ence in connection with the matter of
the town's power to collect connive, a -
tion from the Bell Telephone t.'c, for
' the privilege of placing poles on the
streets of (ioderich. It was sent to

application from the chief of police for
new uniforms tor himself and the ser-
geant.

Chemical Co. had pail the sum of

The public works committee re-
ported that 1Fe G. T. R. co. bad sub-
mitted • plan of w new -•steel overhead
bridge to be placed no Ssltford hill,
providing for en eighteen -foot road-
way and a four -foot sidewalk for the
protection of pedestrian.. It was rec-
ommended that the plan be approved
by the council; also that curbing lie
eonstn,cted at the three corners of St.
Petrick's park, some forty-eight feet in
all. The report was adopted.
Mayor Reid said the clerk and him-
self bad found the adjusting of the
township of Asbileld's Account with
regard to the legal expense. incurred
in the matter of the O. W.Y.A. a very
arduous task. and suggested that the
nuttier be placed is the bands of the
finance committee it was neat. de-
cided to leave the matter with the
Mayor and click, a special meeting of
the council to be called to deal with
the report when it is ready.
