SECOND UNIVERSITY COMPANY
To Reinforce the Pnecw Patricia's
Ca.•dian Light Infantry.
The Canadian Militia Department
has authorized the organiaatloo of •
"world University company for over-
seas
verseas service, to go as a reinforcement
to the Princess Patricia's Canadian
Light Infantry. The company will be
commanded by Capt. tier. C. McDon-
ald, of the McGill contlngent,C.O.T.C.,
with Capt. Percival Motion. also of
the McGill contingent, C. O. T. C.. •s
second in command.
Owing to the success which has at-
tended the recruiting for the first Uni-
vetelty company, which is at present
up to full strength. and attached es
•D" Company to the 38th Battalion
Canadian Expeditionary Force, it was
thought advisable to form another
company,and an application was made
to the partment for the necessary
authority, which has been granted.
Recruiting for the company has al-
ready been started, and many names
have been received. .e
The company will be composed of
graduates or undergraduates of unl•
venation or their friepds.
Conditions of service and rate of pay
will be the same as in the other urtica
of the Canadian Expeditionary force.
The first University compare and
the Toronto University and company
University contingents, C. O. T. U..
are going to a training camp at Ni-
agara -on -the -Lake on Mayt3rd to the
15th, and it is expected that during
that period a large number of recruits
for the new company will be obtained.
Immediately after the camp active
recruiting will be commenced at Mont-
real.
The headquarters of the company
will be at let! Sherbrooke Street West,
and any inquiries or applications
should he addressed there to Lieuten-
ant Geo. S. Currie. Recruiting Officer.

Many pitiful stories are told of the
hours following this rescue. One ves-
sel picked up a boy about 10 years
old whose leg was splintered and
