Arthur Marriott. It was at first sup.posed he might have had something to
do with the shooting but Inter it ape

farm is on the other side of the road
from Vercoe's. He went sailing last
year and appealed at Gbs'o oa Mon-

received word that he was wanted by
the Detroit police oo a charge of steel-
ing 5100 and some revolvers. He wee
quickly nabbed .red 550 was found on
him and two revolves were foend in
the buggy he had been driving. He
admitted the theft but elaitled the
amount was only 570. He is being
held oo a charge of vagrancy.
A Successful, Weildeiag Farmer.
The late Robert Bean was born six-
ty -lour y..r, ago at Marton, York-
shire, Eugl.ad, but lived most of tbe
tiros at Fulton, in Yorkshire, until
coming to Canada at 0t. age of nine
teen or twenty Leers. He worked for
some time be Remito.,d. at Mateo,

Corey, of Nile, and Mrs. Wm. Doak,
of Godericb. Of the sons three -Wil-
liam, Robert and David -arms at 001W,
and George is married and has s place
of his own about a mile west of the
psret.tal home. Deceased had-reveral
brothers, but ooly ons -George, also
of Colborne township -residing in this
country.
Mr. Bean was an adherent of the
Presbyterian church. In politics he
was a Umeervative, hut be was a man
