despite the awful conditions," and
that he seems to thrive on tbe rough

"1 am resting after another spell in
the trenches. 1 •m acting as guide

more exciting than the monotonous

The following figures of the popula-
tion of the county of Huron have
been compiled by Mr. W. Lane,
county clerk. The figures in the first
column are those of the Dominion cen-
sus of 11434. The other columna are
taken from the municipal assessment
returns, and show the population of
the venous municipalities in 19C$.
1913 and 1914, reepecti.rly. The only
inuaieipalitiee in the county that have
held their own in the fifteen ve.r, are
