TvaeoA', Dec. 29.
CHRIST), AS E, rKBTAIHM ENT. -The
annual school Christmas conceit, di-
rected by Mother M. ° Vincent sand
Sister Sebastian, of Sep. S. 8. No. 2,
Ashfield, was held on December 22nd,
and despite the inclemency of the
weather a very large crowd turned
out to hear their young friends give
one of the beta entertainments which
have beep beard here for some years
and that, coneideriog what has been
accomplished on previous occasions by
the present pupils and trainers and
their predecessors, is estimating the
concert of 1911 highly. The enter-
tainment was held in the senior class
room of the school, which was beauti-
fully decorated for the occasion with
every symbol of the joyous season -
evergreens, Uhtistmas belle, both•,
etc., all presenting • most pictareeque
appearance. The chair was ably oc-
cupied by Master Gerald Garvey,
while Master Bernard Flynn person-
ated Santa Claus in a most efficient
manner. The program consisted of
recitations. dialogues, solo,, duets and
choruses. etc., all delivered with a
marked touch of freedom, unconcern
and the other characteristic, so essen-
tial to perfect stage performances. The
dialognss were closely related to the
comedy: the delivery of the recitations
showed exceptional elocutionary tal-
ent : the singing impressed the audi-
ence with the fact that the sweet Irish
voice will still remain In prominence
after the illustrious names of Olcoue
and MacOurmick are erased from the
roll of public entertainers : while the
spirit with wbich the last number was
delivered, the singing of "God Save
the King," accompanied by the wav-
ing of flags,-•sch pupil carrying one,
-told its own story about younger
Canada. Rev. Father McCormack in
addressing the children oomppl1tsaent.d
them and their trainers of obs admir-
able
dminable manner in which the cosoert was
carried through and also expressed
the gratitude of the audience for the
entertaineteit and the hearty wel-
come tendered by the school. The en-
tertainment resects much credit upon
Um Sisters of 8t. Joseph and oke
pupils of the school.

FURS -
The GreAtest Fur Sale in Our History
Starts Saturday, January 2nd, I9I5
We start the New Year with the biggest Fur Sale ever attempted in the County of Huron.
Climatic and business conditions have combined to make this Sale a possibility, and you have
today an opportunity to purchase Furs away below their original price or actual value. We will
stand behind every piece that will be sold and back it with our unqualified guarantee as to its reli-
ability. We want to emphasize the fact that these are HIGH QUALITY FURS, the equal of any
to be had anywhere, and that this is a most unusual Sale of Furs. Recent purchases at prices much
under value account for some of its most tempting bargains. Not an article in stock but has a new
price, and a very low price, for the Sale starting Saturday, January 2nd. Come Saturday if you can,
or in any event come as early in the month as possible for the best choosing. Remember, no mat-
ter how low the price, the quality of the Furs you buy remains unaltered. All are up to our highest
star_dard. No room to print a detailed price list, but_ lake these as samples of the big reductions
