Disposed of Application
At the adjourned sitting of the On-
tario railway and municipal board. on
Thursday last, the application of the
Colborne Telephone System was dis-
posed of. By the order as given the
application was granted and the town-
ship council are ordered to pay forth-
with to the system the amount of de-
tlency uncollected, and to levy and
collect the amounts due from the sub-
scribers in default. Costs of the board
to be paid by the council. Mr. Wm.
Brydone, of Clinton, represented the
telephone system and Mr. Wm.
Proudfoot, K.C., the township.

Mr. Charles Hunt was the victim of
a peculiar accident this (Thursday)
morning. He was eng.ged at his
borne in sharpening a pair of scissors.,
which he had fixed in a vise. His
wife and children were standing by
and in a playful way Mrs. Hunt gave
her husband a pulls. He came in con-
tact with the points of the scissors.
which penetrated hie stomach. Dr.
Callow was called but pronounced the
wound as not dangerous and aftet
cleaning and dressing It Mr. Hunt was
allowed out of bed but was warned to
keep quirt.
