A local tourn•inent in Scotch

tiodericb was represented at the
Walkerton bowling tournament by
rink stemposed of T. Mc Del molt, W.
Lame, F. J. Butland and Dr. Hunter
i.kip). Dr. Hunter inototed up, taking
his family with him ; the other mem-
bers of the #mik went up iu Mr. But -
land's car. The Goderich rink got
into the seini-anals in both matches,
but lost on each 'occaeion. In the
trophy match they defeated two
Wiarton rinke, Lucknow and Walker-
ton and then lust to another Wiarton
rink. In the consolatton match they
won from Su -littoral and Mitchell and
lost their lest genie to Waterloo.
Lacrosse.
The lacrosse season in Goderich
ended in a fizzle. teoderich went to St.
Marys on Labor Day and were de-
feated ray a score of 13 to 3. See,' al
of the regular team were unable to
play, Harry Belcher. who was ill,
being especially missed.
8t. Marys mune here on Wednes-
day. In the first quarter of play,
Gude> ich put it all over the' visitors,
scoring four goals t.0 none. Lavelle,
of the ter."Msrys team, was badly hurt
and was disabled for the rest of the
game. and Page was taken off the
Goderich team to even up. In the
second quarter St. Marys made a score
and Godericb added another. masking
the total score 5 to 1. Sbortly after-
wards Stricker. tbe Sr. Marys centre
player, injured his kneecap, and
during the delay which followed the
St. Marys men went off the field, re•
toeing to continue play. The specta-
tors who bad paid their money 1.0 .14
the game were of course greatly die -
a ppoin ted.
That the game was ;lot awarded to
Godericb by the default cf St. Marys
calls for some explanation, and the
fact appeases to be that.. Goderich had
disqualified themselves hy play ice
outsiders at St. Mena. At spy rate,
although we do net know wbat
official action has been taken, it is
understood here that eiL. Marys hes
won the round.
