concerns in the county of Hume, the
water for the first time visited one
most picturesquely situated at Ben -
miller in the townebip of l'olboroe.

way a woollen mill at BenmiWr to

cloth and yarn. The mill. now a
large cement strutter. is being oper-
ated by Mr. Jesse Gledhill, his son
Ward and his grandees Clyde, with a
half-dozen other hands. In its fifty-
six year of operation this mill has had
the four geoentiona engaged in it.
Mr. Jesse Gledhill, now nearing the
fourscore years, is still hale mod
active, being in his mills every day.
He is a floe type of the Old school, wbo
are fast passing away. and we fear
that the succeeding Goes are
falling far short of meanly quali-
ties. In bpeaking to barmen around.1
all would mention the honest y of, the'
man, "no shoddy there." The wrist is
brought in by the farmers, and blank-
ets, flannels, rugs, yam.. etc.. made
therefrom. Mr. Gledhill needs no
traveller or retailer W sell bis goods,
