THE RICE-KNIGttT BYLAW.
The Rice -knight bylaw offers Goderieb an already establiabed
business, one which ham grown steadily and has made proftra.
The reason tor the proposition now being submitted is that the
cottipanc's present Iactory has become altogether too small for the
detuaode of for expanding business, and rewcval being nece.wry

ers) busineeS men of Godertch bave personally investigated the
present condition of the business, and the company's bankers
have been consulted, all with a satisfactory result. After the
factory is built the cuwopthy will have a surplus of 1023,'J)t) er over

larger busmen wbicb is expected to follow upon the enlarging of
the msnutecturing capacity.

rapid advance of Hydro throughout Ontario and the geberal,
building boom all over Canada the business is unlimited: The
general brass -working sod of the bu.ineas is also a staple line. as
brags goods are now used for eve, y purpose and there ate very

was tirade before it because evident
that the promise of a thorough in-

again Mr. H. H. 1)ewart, counsel for
Mr. Proudfoot, was checked in his
attempts to secure evidence, the chair -
mat refusing to allow ,tuesttons to be
asked along the lines desired by Mr.
Uewart. Appeals to the committee
against tbe,cbairttan's riding were in
vain, the pat nein majority invariably

These obstructive tactics reached a
climax on Wednesday rooming, when
the chairman refused to permit certain
